I’m Elle, a contemporary artist creating atmospheric paintings inspired by ancient landscapes, wild places and the changing light of nature.

 

My work is rooted in a fascination with the places that feel both familiar and otherworldly — ancient forests, open landscapes, distant horizons and the quiet moments between day and night. I’m drawn to the way light can completely transform a landscape, and I use layers of acrylic, texture and gold leaf to create paintings that feel immersive, timeless and slightly dreamlike.

I’m less interested in recreating a particular place than capturing the feeling of being there — the stillness of a landscape, the warmth of fading light or the sense that something ancient exists just beyond what we can see.

 

Each painting develops intuitively, building layers of colour, texture and detail until the landscape begins to emerge. I want my work to invite you to pause, look a little closer and lose yourself in it.
